The 77th Monaco Red Cross Gala brought together royalty, international guests and leading figures from the worlds of culture, business and philanthropy on Saturday July 18, as the Principality’s flagship charitable event returned to the Salle des Étoiles at Sporting Monte-Carlo…
Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene officially opened the evening, dancing to Barry White’s “I’ve Got So Much to Give,” before welcoming guests in their roles as President and Vice-President of the Monaco Red Cross.
The gala combined elegance with its enduring humanitarian mission, raising funds to support emergency relief, community assistance and first-aid programmes in Monaco and around the world. Guests enjoyed a dinner created by three-Michelin-starred chef Marcel Ravin, with dessert by celebrated pastry chef Cédric Grolet, before a charity raffle and a fireworks display over the Mediterranean.
A highlight of this year’s edition was the world premiere of SOUL!, a new Société des Bains de Mer production celebrating the evolution of African American music from legends including Aretha Franklin, James Brown and Otis Redding through to contemporary artists such as Beyoncé and Bruno Mars. Featuring 12 dancers, eight musicians and four singers, the hour-long performance received its debut at the gala before beginning a public run at Sporting Monte-Carlo from July 29 to August 9.
Among the evening’s guests was Camille Gottlieb, alongside senior representatives of the international Red Cross movement and dignitaries from Monaco and abroad.
