Team Drogba Global Africa celebrated a landmark first victory in the UIM E1 World Championship after producing a commanding performance in Monaco on Saturday, with drivers Micah Wilkinson and Tara Pacheco combining to secure the team’s maiden win in the all-electric powerboat series…

The duo dominated both finals at Port Hercule after Team Monaco, which had topped qualifying on home waters, saw its hopes dashed by taking a wrong turn during the race. That mistake dropped the home team into the Place Race, where they eventually finished ninth overall. Team Brady claimed second place, whilst Sports.com Predict Team Miami Powered by Magnus completed the podium, ending a run of 13 races without a top-three finish.

The result moves Team Brady to the top of the championship standings on 119 points, nine ahead of Will Smith’s Westbrook Racing by Visit Angola. Team Drogba’s victory also lifts the outfit from seventh to sixth in the overall standings after its previous best finish of seventh at Lake Como.

Hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco, the Principality once again provided a spectacular setting for the championship’s third visit. Wilkinson was named PIF Pilot of the Day for his performance, and attention now turns to the next round in Luanda, Angola, on September 12 and 13 as the title battle continues to intensify.
