Monaco continues to play a leading role in the international fight against hunger, reaffirming its strong support for the World Food Programme with new funding focused on gender equality…

n 2026, the Principality will contribute €1.185 million to WFP initiatives, with a total of €3.65 million committed over three years to projects targeting malnutrition, school meals and the resilience of vulnerable communities.

Monaco has also provided emergency assistance to countries facing acute food crises, including recent support for Malawi, as reported by Monaco Matin. This ongoing commitment highlights the Principality’s position as one of the largest donors to the WFP relative to its size.

A new agreement signed by Monaco’s ambassador to Italy, Anne Eastwood, reinforces this approach by placing women at the centre of food security strategies. The programme aims to improve access to nutrition while addressing the root causes of inequality and promoting the economic empowerment of women and girls.

By combining long-term funding with targeted interventions, Monaco continues to support sustainable solutions to global food challenges, while ensuring that gender equality remains a key pillar of international development efforts.
