Bruno Valentin has been appointed to lead the Monaco Cyber Security Agency, taking over as director on February 4. His appointment follows the publication of a Sovereign Ordinance naming Frédéric Fautrier as Director General of the Department of the Interior.

Until now deputy director of the agency, Bruno Valentin steps into the role at a time when digital security has become an increasingly strategic priority for the Principality. The Monegasque government paid tribute to the work carried out by Frédéric Fautrier, who has played a central role in shaping the agency since its creation in 2015, first as deputy director and later as director from August 2021.

Bruno Valentin joined the agency at the end of 2016 and brings with him nearly three decades of experience in the fight against cybercrime and in information systems security, gained across both public and private sectors. His background and technical expertise are seen as key assets as Monaco continues to strengthen its defences against cyber threats.

As one of Europe’s most attractive and connected jurisdictions, the Principality faces growing exposure to cyberattacks affecting institutions, businesses and individuals alike. The government believes Valentin’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring Monaco remains resilient in an increasingly complex digital environment.
