Monaco will mark International Women’s Rights Day with a full programme of events on Friday, March 6, ahead of the global celebration on March 8…

Organised by the Committee for the Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights, the now well-known “POW(H)ER” Day, returns to the Espace Léo Ferré with a focus on inequalities in health and sport throughout a woman’s life.

Open to the public from 11am to 5pm, the event will feature a photographic exhibition highlighting Monegasque sportswomen, alongside eight interactive workshops designed to explore key stages of life, from childhood to senior years. The aim is both educational and engaging, encouraging reflection on persistent disparities whilst celebrating progress achieved over recent decades. Several middle school classes and young people from AS Monaco’s training centre are expected to attend, underlining the importance placed on raising awareness from an early age.

The day will conclude with a public speaking competition held in the main chamber of the National Council. Under the theme “From Ego to Equal”, high school students will share their perspectives on equality between women and men. With 22 candidates registered, more than last year, the initiative reflects growing engagement among Monaco’s youth.

Whilst March 8 serves as a symbolic milestone, organisers stress that the pursuit of equality extends far beyond a single date, remaining a year-round commitment in the Principality.
