Monaco has taken a meaningful step forward in addressing the challenges of addiction with the recent official visit to the Centre de Soins, d’Accompagnement et de Prévention en Addictologie de Monaco (CSAPAM). The visit, attended by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II along with senior health officials, highlighted the Principality’s commitment to supporting residents, workers, and students struggling with substance use or addictive behaviours.
Situated at 7 bis, avenue des Ligures in Fontvieille, CSAPAM is a discreet and welcoming hub offering free, confidential consultations for anyone aged 15 and over. Whether dealing with alcohol, tobacco, drugs (including cannabis, cocaine, heroin, or synthetic substances), or behavioural dependencies such as gambling and excessive screen time, the centre provides personalised support without judgement. It also supports those affected indirectly, such as family, friends, and colleagues.
CSAPAM is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 16:30, and operates with or without an appointment. The multidisciplinary team offers medical and psychological evaluations, creating tailored care plans to meet the specific needs of each person. The centre’s goal is not only treatment but also restoring autonomy and self-esteem — often lost in the grip of addiction.
Beyond individual support, the centre engages in prevention initiatives across schools, businesses, and community organisations. By tackling stigma and raising awareness, CSAPAM works to foster early intervention and break the isolation that often surrounds addiction.
Importantly, the service operates under strict principles of anonymity, respect, and empathy, making it a vital lifeline in Monaco’s public health network.
Those in need can reach CSAPAM at (+377) 98 98 27 97 or (+377) 98 98 46 99. Whether you’re looking for help yourself or concerned about someone else, this centre provides a judgement-free space to take the first step toward recovery.
