On Thursday, May 8 at 8 p.m., the Théâtre Princesse Grace will host La Vie en Vrai, a moving theatrical and musical tribute to the late Anne Sylvestre, a powerful voice in French chanson who passed away in 2020 at the age of 86…
Created and performed by Marie Fortuit, accompanied by Lucie Sansen on piano, the performance blends personal narrative and musical homage, exploring the resonances between Sylvestre’s poetic, feminist legacy and the experiences of today’s generation of artists.
Through autofictional texts and a dozen of Sylvestre’s songs—ranging from her best-known works to lesser-known gems—La Vie en Vrai offers a unique, hybrid format that is both intimate and thought-provoking. Fortuit and Sansen weave a tapestry of sound and story that reawakens the vibrant spirit of Sylvestre, whose lyrical depth and fearless voice left a lasting imprint on French culture.
This performance, lasting approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes without intermission, is a celebration of music, memory, and artistic continuity. It captures the essence of an icon while giving space for new voices to echo and evolve her message.
