The Yacht Club de Monaco brought together maritime innovators from 28 countries for the sixth Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Rendezvous, showcasing new ideas designed to make the marinas of tomorrow cleaner, smarter and more secure…
Held ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show, the international event was organised by consulting firm M3 Monaco and attracted investors, architects, industrialists and companies working on solutions for a rapidly evolving yachting sector.
Among the innovations presented was a marine solar tree developed in the Netherlands and inspired by the stone pine found around the Mediterranean. Designed as a piece of functional art, the structure provides seating and shade whilst its solar panels generate electricity that can be stored in an integrated battery system.
The event also highlighted the wider challenge facing the yachting industry as it seeks to reduce its environmental impact whilst continuing to innovate. Yacht Club de Monaco representatives acknowledged that considerable progress remains necessary, but pointed to the practical solutions already being developed.
The Rendezvous concluded on September 21 with awards recognising some of the most promising projects presented, underlining Monaco’s continuing role as a meeting point for sustainable innovation across the international maritime sector.
