From Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 May 2025, the Théâtre des Variétés will come alive with music as the Académie Rainier III hosts its annual “Journées de l’Académie” concert series…
This three-day residency will showcase the hard work, passion, and artistry of the Académie’s young musicians through a trio of public performances.
The series opens on Monday 5 May at 20:30 with a lively programme from the Jazz & Contemporary Music Department, featuring iconic hits such as Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing” and Sade’s “Is It a Crime”. The evening will culminate in a powerful ensemble performance of “Aquarius & Let the Sunshine In” from the musical Hair, uniting around 40 students on stage.
On Tuesday 6 May at 19:00, the spotlight turns to Chamber Music and Ensembles, with performances crafted under the guidance of the Académie’s esteemed faculty. This concert promises an intimate experience highlighting collaboration and technical finesse.
The residency concludes on Wednesday 7 May at 19:00 with a grand Orchestral Concert, blending classical repertoire with cinematic favourites, including selections by legendary film composer Ennio Morricone.
