Monaco’s government has issued a warning about fraudulent emails impersonating the Directorate of Judicial Services, urging residents to exercise caution against these sophisticated phishing attempts.

The emails, falsely sent under the name of Éric Arella, Director of Public Safety, claim to involve recipients in fabricated legal proceedings. These messages, often escaping spam filters, demand a response via email and allege criminal charges, including false accusations of sexual offences.

The government clarified that these emails are part of a widespread phishing campaign aimed at deceiving recipients into providing sensitive information. Officials strongly advise against responding to the emails, clicking on links, or opening attachments. Instead, recipients should forward the suspicious messages to cyber@gouv.mc and mark them as spam before permanently deleting them.

Separately, Monaco Telecom has alerted customers about another phishing attempt using their name. The company emphasised vigilance and urged users to report any dubious communications.
