A groundbreaking initiative, the Mentors Club, has been established in Monaco to connect young people with seasoned professionals from diverse fields, offering invaluable guidance for their future endeavours…
Conceived by students at FANB High School and supported by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the program aims to inspire teenagers to dream big, set goals, and take actionable steps towards their aspirations.
The idea emerged from high school students reflecting on the uncertainties surrounding their career paths. “We’re asked a lot of questions about what we want to do later, but as we’re not fully adults yet, it’s hard to know,” explained one student. “Mentors can provide that spark and help us discover exciting opportunities.”
The Mentors Club features a network of 30 experienced professionals, ranging from doctors and lawyers to sports managers and chefs. Each mentor brings unique expertise, sharing insights on education, internships, and career options. Lorenzo, one of the mentors, shared, “We have 15, 20, or 30 years of experience to pass on. It’s about sharing knowledge and using contacts to help young people navigate their journeys.”
To join the program, students must complete a motivation questionnaire, and only 30 will be selected to participate. These young individuals will benefit from personalized mentorship, exploring a wide array of careers and gaining the confidence to take initiatives, even in the face of potential setbacks.
As Monaco’s next generation steps into the world with guidance from this innovative program, the Mentors Club promises to be a transformative experience, fostering ambition and resilience in the Principality’s youth.
