Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has announced a leadership change at the iconic Café de Paris. Stéphane Tendero, a seasoned hospitality professional with 30 years of experience, has taken the reins of the renowned brasserie located on Monaco’s Place du Casino, succeeding Eric Gorjux, who had been in charge since the café’s reopening in 2022.
Tendero’s extensive career spans roles at some of France’s most prestigious establishments. He began as catering director at the casinos in Bordeaux, Trouville-sur-Mer, and Enghien-les-Bains before moving to Paris, where his resume includes notable positions at famed venues. In 2014, he was appointed executive director at the legendary La Coupole. Later, he joined Lagardère Travel Retail, overseeing the launch of Thierry Marx’s brasserie. By 2018, Tendero had taken on the role of catering director at the celebrated Fouquet’s, a position he held for over six years.
SBM lauded Tendero’s “ambitious and remarkable career” in a statement, highlighting his proven ability to helm high-profile establishments. “His experience equips him well to lead the Café de Paris into its next chapter,” the group noted.
The Café de Paris, a cherished landmark in the Principality, is a favourite gathering spot for locals and an essential stop for visitors. Tendero steps into his new role with a commitment to maintaining the brasserie’s storied reputation while embracing its modern vision.
