The 13th edition of the Monaco Eco Club Trophies, organised by Nice-Matin and the Monaco Economic Board, took place on the 25th November with six outstanding Monegasque entrepreneurs and businesses recognised for their contributions to the Principality’s economy.
The prestigious awards celebrate innovation, sustainability, and leadership within Monaco’s vibrant business community. Among the honourees was Françoise Puzena, Director of BNP Paribas Monte Carlo, who received the Manager of the Year Award. Leading a team of 200, Puzena emphasized her people-first approach: “I manage with conviction and enthusiasm, and I am immensely proud of the incredible team that works tirelessly for our clients.”
The Sustainable Development Trophy went to Eric Humilier, Director of the Monegasque Construction Company. Under his leadership, the company has achieved a remarkable 60% reduction in its carbon footprint related to material transport by adopting biofuels. Humilier also spearheaded the use of industrial by-products, such as slag from steel production, to replace cement in concrete, further reducing CO2 emissions. “Our ambition is to create more environmentally responsible construction sites by minimizing cement usage and maximizing the use of co-products,” he said.
The evening also highlighted innovation, international success, and contributions to Monaco’s dynamism, with six awards presented in total. Since its inception in 2012, the Eco Club Trophies have honoured nearly 90 businesses, showcasing Monaco’s dedication to sustainability and economic performance.
Minister of State Didier Guillaume emphasized the importance of the awards, calling them a testament to the resilience and diversity of Monaco’s SMEs. He noted, “These accolades demonstrate the strength of our economic community and highlight the exceptional efforts driving Monaco’s development.” The event underscored the Principality’s commitment to rewarding excellence and fostering sustainable innovation.
