Commuters heading from Monaco toward Menton should expect a patchwork of train and bus services through November 8, as engineering works on the line bring a modified schedule that came into effect Monday, August 31, hitting the stations of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Carnolès hardest.

At certain times of day, travellers will need to catch a bus rather than a train, and the pickup points don’t always match the train station itself. In Monaco, replacement buses toward Menton depart from the short-stay parking area outside the SNCF station, with departures at midday, 4:25pm and 5:25pm. In Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, the relevant stop sits on Avenue de la Côte d’Azur, at the “2e Escalier” stop on Line 600, around a seven-minute walk from the station. In Carnolès, the stop is on Avenue Louis Pasteur, at “Casernes,” roughly five minutes away. All replacement buses terminate at Menton’s bus station.

Where trains do still run, services are concentrated mainly in the morning and afternoon rather than spread evenly across the day. According to SNCF’s published timetable, the first train from Monaco departs at 6:46am, reaching Roquebrune-Cap-Martin at 6:57am, Carnolès at 7:01am, and Menton at 7:04am.

The disruption applies only to the Monaco-to-Menton direction. Travellers heading the opposite way, from Menton toward Monaco and Nice, are unaffected by these particular changes.

SNCF has cautioned that timetables tied to the works may shift further as construction progresses, with updates issued through its usual passenger information channels. Anyone travelling through the affected stations, particularly during the hours covered by replacement buses, is advised to check the latest schedule before setting out.
