This Saturday, the Carabiniers of the Prince of Monaco welcomed thirty Cadets from the Alpes-Maritimes Gendarmerie for an immersive day of learning and exploration…
The day began with a detailed introduction to the Carabiniers’ corps, where the cadets discovered the unit’s human resources, advanced technical equipment, and security infrastructure responsible for protecting the Principality. They then explored the Musée des Princes et de Leurs Gardes, delving into the storied history and distinguished role of the Carabiniers over the years.
After a shared lunch at the Caserne des Moneghetti, the afternoon agenda shifted to discussions on environmental protection and economic security, focusing on marine conservation. Presentations from the Office Central de Lutte contre les Atteintes à l’Environnement et à la Santé Publique (OCLAESP), the maritime division of the Gendarmerie, and Monaco’s economic security sector highlighted the Gendarmerie’s essential role in these areas. This initiative aligns with the forthcoming UN Ocean Conference (UNOC 2025) in Nice, where global leaders will address ocean conservation and sustainable marine resource use.
Concluding their day, the cadets visited the renowned Oceanographic Museum, where they learned about the challenges of marine preservation and the importance of safeguarding oceanic ecosystems. Through these activities, the Prince’s Carabiniers and the French Gendarmerie reinforced a shared commitment to protecting both heritage and the environment.
