The iconic Casino de Monte-Carlo is breaking new ground by bringing its prestigious brand to the high seas in partnership with luxury cruise line Crystal.
Starting November 14th, the world-renowned casino will open its first-ever floating location aboard the Crystal Symphony, with a grand unveiling in Venice.
This bold move is part of the Société des Bains de Mer’s (SBM) strategy to expand beyond Monaco’s borders while maintaining its reputation for excellence. The onboard casino will feature around thirty slot machines and classic gaming tables such as Blackjack, Texas Hold’Em Ultimate Poker, and American Roulette. Crystal’s staff, though not Monegasque croupiers, will be trained in the Monte-Carlo style by SBM’s gaming school to ensure the high standards and traditions of the brand are upheld.
“The Monte-Carlo Casino at sea offers a unique opportunity to introduce our distinguished gaming experience to a new audience,” said Pascal Camia, SBM’s director of international development. To guarantee that the onboard experience matches that of the iconic land-based casino, SBM will conduct annual audits and retrain staff as needed.
The launch aboard the Crystal Symphony will be followed by another casino opening on the Crystal Serenity in December. Both ships cater to affluent American and international guests, sailing the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas, providing a perfect platform to attract new clientele.
“Crystal’s passengers have been eager for a gaming experience, and it made perfect sense for us to collaborate given our strong ties,” noted Camia. With the addition of the Monte-Carlo casino at sea, SBM hopes to entice guests to experience the full grandeur of Monaco’s casinos onshore.
This exciting new chapter solidifies the Casino de Monte-Carlo’s standing as a leader in the world of luxury gaming, now setting sail across the Crystal seas.
