The Princely Government of Monaco has officially adopted a new Ministerial Decree that outlines the protocols for managing emergency first aid for workers experiencing an accident or medical incident at the workplace. This decree, implemented in accordance with a Sovereign Ordinance on Occupational Health, establishes a framework for organising first aid and aims to ensure swift and effective care for affected employees.
The primary goal of the decree is to remove accident or medical victims from dangerous situations, thereby preventing secondary accidents. It mandates that trained employees perform essential first aid measures without delay, minimising the impact of the incident until professional emergency services arrive.
Welcomed by the Federation of Monegasque Enterprises (FEDEM) and the Building Employers’ Chamber, the decree formalises a practice already implemented by many companies. It introduces mandatory first aid training for employees, with the level of training tailored to the nature of the business and the number of staff.
The Labour Inspectorate is available to assist companies in Monaco with any questions regarding the decree’s application. Businesses can reach out via phone at +377 98 98 87 26 or visit the office at 17 Rue Princesse Florestine.
