In its fourth edition of World Drowning Prevention Day, the Princess Charlene Foundation organised workshops and offered advice to help prevent drowning on Thursday, July 25, at the Rainier-III Nautical Stadium.

An educational exercise took place, in which a young man swimming lengths suddenly lost consciousness and began to drown. In turn, a vigilant lifeguard quickly responded, diving in to rescue him and bringing him to the edge to perform resuscitation. This staged drowning exercise aimed to raise awareness among swimmers at the Port Hercule swimming pool about the dangers of drowning and the necessary steps to take in such situations.

Rescue, prevention, and training organisations set up a village at the entrance of the swimming pool, wherein workshops, organised by the Monaco town hall, included first aid demonstrations by volunteers from the Monaco Red Cross and the Monaco Fire Brigade.
