AS Monaco is delighted to announce the extension of Maghnes Akliouche’s contract for an additional two seasons, securing the talented 22-year-old attacking midfielder’s presence at the club until June 2028.

A true product of Monaco’s esteemed Academy, Akliouche’s journey in the Principality began seven years ago. Since starting his training in 2017, he has steadily climbed the ranks, debuting for the senior team in 2021 and signing his professional contract in February 2022.

Last season, Akliouche emerged as a pivotal player in Monaco’s offensive lineup. His remarkable performance included a goal on the first day in a 4-2 win against Clermont last August, and a double in the 3-2 victory over Olympique de Marseille that following September. Throughout the 2023-24 season, he scored eight goals and provided four assists in 31 matches, significantly contributing to Monaco’s second-place finish in Ligue 1 and their direct qualification for the Champions League.

Beyond his club success, Akliouche’s talents were recognised on the international stage, as he joined Thierry Henry’s French Espoirs Team in September and was selected to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alongside Monaco’s Soungoutou Magassa and Chrislain Matsima.

Currently competing with the French Olympic Team, which triumphed 3-0 against the United States in their first match, Akliouche will rejoin the Monaco squad after the Olympics, donning the number 11 jersey. His continued presence promises to be a significant asset for AS Monaco in the upcoming seasons.
