Almost 30 automotive enthusiasts from the Club Suisse de Monaco recently set off on its first-ever rally in their beautiful cars.

The tour started under a bright blue sky at the harbour of Cap d’Ail. After the participants had affixed the starting numbers to their cars, they headed out in the direction of Grasse.

The first destination was the impressive private estate of a club member, where the participants were warmly welcomed and enjoyed fresh Swiss specialities that the owner had brought with him from Switzerland. Afterwards, they were able to explore the lavishly and lovingly renovated estate, which is set in a park of over 65,000 square metres. As a farewell gift, each participant received a bottle of olive oil from the owner’s olive trees and a Swiss chocolate cow.

The second leg of the journey was tackled in good spirits and refreshed: the group travelled through the beautiful hinterland to the Château de Berne, where they explored the wine cellar and tasted the wines within.

The group then travelled to the nearby Chez Bruno hotel and restaurant. The chef himself, Benjamin Bruno, welcomed the group and served an exquisite truffle gourmet menu.

The next morning, the day started with a delicious breakfast in the hotel’s beautiful breakfast room. Strengthened, the car enthusiasts drove to Château Sainte Roseline and marvelled at the chapel with the Chagall mosaic, the eye relic of Saint Roseline and the little doors by Swiss artist Diego Giacometti. The beautiful wine cellar here was also visited, and the wines tasted.

For the final dinner, the group travelled to Callas, to the Hostellerie Les Gorges de Pennafort, where another delicious gourmet menu and further delicious wines were served. During the meal, the most beautiful car of the rally, a 1959 Triumph TR3 A Roadster, was honoured.

The participants returned to Monaco in the early evening with many great impressions, gifts and new friends.
