The traditional reception was held on Thursday, March 14 in honour of the people having acquired Monegasque nationality during the past year, by law or by Sovereign Ordinance.

Camille Svara, Deputy Mayor, Chloé Boscagli Leclerq, Charles Maricic, Georges Gambarini, Nada Lorenzi, Nathalie Vaccarezza and Jean-Luc Puyo, members of the Municipal Council, welcomed around thirty new Monegasques in the Wedding Hall.

During 2023 68 people acquired nationality. Camille Svara welcomed the guests “to the big Monegasque family”, before giving them very symbolic gifts, including a reproduction of the original document of the Monegasque national anthem, written in 1931 by the Monegasque poet Louis Notari.

The reception concluded with the anthem, performed by the Academy Children’s Choir Rainier III.

Some numbers: 9,790 Monegasque citizens recorded as of December 31, 2023. Sixty-seven percent of them obtained Monegasque nationality by descent, 19 percent by marriage and 14 percent by Sovereign Ordinance.
