The Princess Charlene Foundation is expanding beyond the borders of the Principality and into Europe, as well as across the Atlantic, thanks to a newly-formed partnership with the Al Oerter Foundation and the Pierre de Coubertin Family Association.
Together, the three institutions aim to create educational and sporting initiatives throughout Europe and the United States.
“Sport inspires and gives us hope, it can unite people and nations,” said HSH Princess Charlene, adding that “the alliance with the Al Oerter Foundation based in the United States and the Pierre de Coubertin Association based in Paris is an ideal opportunity to develop one of the priority missions of my foundation, to promote well-being and help children develop through educational projects and sports activities.”
A former Olympic swimmer and an advocate for drowning prevention and water safety in general, Princess Charlene has already made an impact with her Foundation since its launch in December 2012, having reached 1.2 million children across 43 countries.
