The Monegasque tennis team has managed to qualify for the next round of the Davis Cup by beating Paraguay in an away match last weekend, in the World Group II.
It was 3-1 for the tennis players from the Principality. Valentin Vacherot was the big hero because he managed to win both his singles matches. He won the first match against Martin Vergara (6-2, 6-1) and Daniel Vallejo (6-7, 6-4, 6-4). The other run was earned in doubles. Hugo Nys and Romain Arneodo defeated the Paraguayan duo Vallejo-Vergara in straight sets (7-6, 6-4).
Paraguay initially took the lead by winning the first game. Daniel Vallejo defeated Benjamin Balleret in straight sets (6-2, 6-4).
