Four of the six elevators at Monaco station have been returned to service after almost a month of shutdown.
All six lifts were taken out of service on October 12 due to construction work on a neighbouring site.
At the time it was reported that the shutdown was as a result of sensors detecting subterranean movement. However, it has since emerged that pieces of concrete had fallen into at least one shaft as a result of work on the Villa Lucia site.
For almost a month commuters have endured long queues to take fewer and much smaller lifts up to the car park at Level 3, while some travellers have taken 252 steps up to the exit at Sainte-Dévote bridge.
If trouble continues, the construction site could be shut down temporarily.
