The inauguration of the Beausoleil motorway ramp on the A8 autoroute has been pushed back to the end of the year, one year later than projected.
“Our planning objective is to complete this work in November,” said Eric Meneroud, operational director of infrastructure at Escota/Vinci Autoroutes.
Once the contractors have finished their work, which has lasted three years, the project will be inspected by the state.
This year’s delays are due to the complex topography of the site, Mr Meneroud said. Among the preparatory work for the ramp pine trees covering 27,000 metres were removed.
The ramp initially entered service in 1989 but was closed again in 1994. The purpose of the ramp is to ease access to Monaco.
