The figurative doors of AS Monaco have not stopped revolving, as the club has acquired the signature of yet another young talent, this time in the form of 22 year-old Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo from Italian Serie A side Torino.
Singo trained as a centre back in his formative years, but slowly shifted to the role of right back over the course of his time in Turin, making him a flexible player in the defensive line. Standing at 1.9 metres tall, Singo is of identical stature to the recently departed Axel Disasi, who’s aerial dominance in defence was greatly appreciated.
A young player with many years left on the clock, Singo has signed with Monaco for a period of five years and for an undisclosed fee, until the summer of 2028, following on from the arrival of Denis Zakaria, Mohammed Salisu and Philipp Köhn.
Singo was presented to the press on Friday in a conference alongside new sporting director Thiago Scuro and Zakaria, wherein he said “I want to write a great story with AS Monaco.
The first chapter of said story will see Monaco host Strasbourg at the Stade Louis II on Sunday, August 20.
