The threat of a winter surge in coronavirus infections receded over the last week.
The benchmark incidence rate fell to 258 per 100,000 population on Sunday, December 18, from 452 one week earlier.
During the entire week to December 18, 101 positive new cases were reported and 48 residents with mild symptoms are currently recovering at home.
The only black spot is the number of people being treated at Princess Grace Hospital for coronavirus symptoms. Of a total of 34 such patients 21 are residents. One non-resident is in intensive care.
In the neighbouring PACA region the incidence rate is currently 680 per 100,000, down 30 points over one week. The national rate in France is 600 per 100,000.
