Monaco’s health authorities have reacted quickly to the appearance of monkeypox in the Principality, and an ‘adequate’ stock of vaccine has been obtained.
In more than 90 percent of cases the disease is sexually transmitted. In France 97 percent of cases have been among homosexual men with recent contact with multiple partners.
Symptoms include fever, muscle pain, fatigue, a rash and possibly open lesions.
Residents are invited to have a preventative vaccination by contacting the Screening Centre at Princess Grace Hospital at +377 97 98 84 12.
