The operations director of the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco, Roland de Rechniewski has passed away at the age of 63 on Monday, April 22.
Known and respected in the Principality for decades, de Rechniewski joined the Monegasque bus company in the late 1980s, before being appointed operations director. M. de Rechniewski was also Vietnam’s honorary consul in Monaco since 2014, and was responsible for developing bilateral cooperation, particularly in economy, investment and tourism.
“It is with immense sadness that the Prince’s Government would like to pay tribute to Roland de RECHNIEWSKI, Director of the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco. Professional, attached to human and family values, he will have been able to grow this company, with kindness by meeting the environmental challenges of the public transport service in the Principality,” reads a tribute to the CAM director on the government website.
A religious ceremony will be held in the Saint-Charles church in Monaco on the morning of Friday, April 26. CAM staff are expected to pay tribute to their director with a coordinated sound action lasting a few seconds at the end of the ceremony funeral.
