The Riviera Waterbike Challenge attracted 95 sportspeople and personalities in aid of Princess Charlene’s children’s drowning charity.
A great deal of fun was had by all as participants competed over a 25km course in the Bay of Monaco, and in the process funds were raised for Princess Charlene’s charity to fight the scourge of children’s deaths from drowning.
Proceeds from this year’s event are destined for the charity’s use in Sri Lanka.
Having been tested positive for coronavirus at the start of the weekend, Princess Charlene could not attend the send-off at Monaco Yacht Club on Sunday morning. It was up to HSH Prince Albert, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella to chat to those taking part.
Gareth Wittstock, Secretary General of the Foundation and brother of Princess Charlene, led his team, Serenity, onto the podium in first place.
