After almost two years of closure, briefly suspended last summer, Nice Airport’s Terminal 1 will reopen on Sunday, the first day of Summer Time.

The move will mean less overcrowding at Terminal 2, which has taken up the slack during the closure. In practical terms, it will see British Airways move back to Terminal 1, alongside many other national carriers.

Out of a total of 100 destinations served by Nice this summer, Terminal 1 will serve 52 destinations, to 29 countries and several destinations in France.

Nine new arrivals include four new companies Condor, Icelandair, United Airlines and Gulf Air.

In the celebratory blurb on its website, the Airport says: “Twenty shops and 14 restaurants await you in Terminal 1, on the city side as soon as you exit the tram and on the airside. Let yourself be seduced by the worlds of Fashion, Jewellery and Gifts, Gastronomy, Beauty, and Souvenirs.”

For the moment, the 110 Airport Express coach service continues to operate hourly from Monaco, rather than very 30 minutes, leaving Sea Club-Le Meridien at 10 minutes past each hour, and from the Monte-Carlo stop at 15 minutes past each hour. The only exception is an extra service at 10:40/10:45. The first coach to the airport is at 07:10/07:15 and the last at 19:10/19:15, according to the niceairportexpress website. Times may change.
