The long-awaited reopening of Monaco’s Irish pub took place on Wednesday, February 9, albeit in a very different configuration than the much-loved McCarthys, which closed two years ago for the major transformation.

Only the cocktail operation has opened, on the south side of rue du Portier, with the original premises on the other side of the street, much revamped, set to open in about two weeks.

A pleasant surprise for returning clients is that prices appear not to have rocketed over the intervening months, and locals and regulars are looking forward to the full reopening, hopefully well ahead of Saint Patrick’s Day on March 17.
