As part of Monaco’s energy transition program, the Maintenance Department of Public Buildings has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of the FANB school on the Rock. A total of 158 photovoltaic modules were used, covering an area of 225 square metres, which will produce more than 40.36 MWh of electricity to be used by the school itself.
The equipment will provide the establishment with energy autonomy of up to 26 percent and will promote a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of nearly four tonnes of Co2 per year.
The panels are coloured to fit in with the roofs of the Monaco Ville neighbourhood. FANB is the 26th public establishment in the Principality to be equipped with photovoltaic panels.
Together these facilities represent 1,968 square metres of surface area, capable of producing 1039 MWh with a resultant reduction of 58 tonnes of Co2 per year.
