The award-winning Metropole Hotel has recently launched its winter waffle bar that will be open until the end of January. The waffles are prepared in the Lobby Bar and there are three types of gaufre on offer:

  • The sweet one
  • The homemade spread or caramel or whipped cream
  • The signature Metropole waffle, with truffle caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream

Laurence Shukor, Director of Press & Public Relations of the hotel answered our quick questions:

Is this your regular pre-Christmas activity or just a pop up this year?

It’s a pop up this year. We had previously done a chocolate bar and then a crêpes bar and now it’s time for waffles.

Is it for everybody, or just the guests of the hotel?

It is for all guests from the hotel but of course all the locals as well. The waffles are available every day at the Lobby Bar from 12.30 to 18:00.

Our wonderful pastry chef.

Why waffles?

It’s a winter delicacy that pleases children as much as adults and it’s very much related to the Christmas period.

Which one is your favourite and why?

The signature one with truffle caramel is our favourite because it is very original. You can’t find this anywhere else as it is a creation from our Pastry Chef Patrick Mesiano.
