Each week we get to know Monaco a little better through the eyes of its residents.  This week we hear from the delightful Marianne Thousin, a Senior Broker at Icon Property.  Marianne is originally from Belgium and has lived in Monaco for 18 years.  Her passion is helping lovely people find their next home here in the Principality. www.icon-property.com

  1. I get my morning coffee and croissant here

If I don’t have breakfast at home, I love to go to Cova for their espresso and croissant or I go to Club 39 for their healthy bowl.

2. My favourite lunch spot

I love Izakaya for their rolls and the staff is also really friendly.

3. Best Friday night aperitif

The bar of Metropole Hotel, especially in winter when it is so cosy and charming.

4. Annual event I never miss

The Child Care Charity Rally.  It’s an amazing event when we get to drive a beautiful classic car all over the Cote d’Azur, and in different theme of dress every year.  It is a great day with friends, lots of fun and all for a very good cause. https://www.childcaremonaco.com

5. Favourite time of year in the Principality

I love spring when everything is reborn and comes back to life.  I always like to attend the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament in April, which marks the beginning of a great period of events in Monaco.

6. My best Monaco workout

Most days I am on the Peloton treadmill at home before going to work, I wish I had more time to do different outdoor sports.

7. Where I go/what I do for “me time”

When the weather is good, the best moment for an escape for me is to go for an hour of paddle boarding during my lunch time. It is the perfect way to get tan, exercise and chill, all at the same time.

8. My go to shop for last minute gifts

Always flowers, everybody loves them and Monaco has lots of good flower shops everywhere.

9. A hidden gem I’m willing to share

Woo on Princesse Caroline.  It is a great place to find healthy sandwiches, salads, and fresh juices. I just love it!

10. Best day trip out of town

Out of season, we like to go to St Tropez.  We take our dog Enzo and let him run free on the big empty beach of Pampelonne.

11. The one thing I would change about Monaco if I could

We need more green areas to walk dogs and let them play.

12. The Shout Out

Doggy Adventure for taking dogs out in nature where they can run and be crazy together.

Thank you for sharing your Monaco, Marianne!
