The Club Suisse de Monaco celebrated Swiss National Day in absolute red-and-white-style at the Horizon Deck of the Fairmont in Monaco on Sunday, August 1.

A delicious lunch was served in the beautifully-situated terrace giving the members an astounding view of the ocean and the Principality. Along with great laughter, amazing food and a tombola with a variety of prizes – from hotel room vouchers to beauty treatments, massages and lots of food vouchers – the guests heard two lovely speeches. Corinne Bertani, a National Councillor and member of the Foreign Relations Commission highlighted the importance of the Swiss community in Monaco and relations between the Principality and Switzerland.

President of the Club Suisse de Monaco, Dr Arik Röschke, emphasised the similarities between Switzerland, the Club Suisse de Monaco and the Principality of Monaco as a whole: “many different cultures, languages and generations in one place peacefully united.”

It was a great combination of entertainment, friendships and new discoveries and was one of many enjoyable events that was put together by the Club Suisse de Monaco, which give a taste for even more exciting events that are planned and hopefully soon shared on its website (www.club-suisse-monaco.com)!

The Club Suisse de Monaco was founded in 1949 and is a social club that connects the local Monegasque, Swiss, and international communities and unites them in events throughout and around the principality.
