The week starting Monday, July 12, sees two important art events in Monaco, artmonte-carlo and Monaco Art Week. The artmonte-carlo salon is centred on the Grimaldi Forum, starting at noon on Thursday, July 15. and continuing until 18:00 on Saturday, July 17. A wide range of art will be on display. Adult tickets are 20 euros.

Meanwhile, Monaco Art Week is a moveable feast, with exhibitions, art talks and meetings and a round table hosted by a dozen galleries and auction houses. It runs from Wednesday July 14 until Sunday July 18.

“The Monaco Art Week Association is a result of the desire to federate Monaco’s cultural institutions in an effort to organise joint actions that highlight and promote the Principality’s art scene,” the organisers say.

Eleven galleries and auction houses, at ten sites, are joining forces to present a series of exhibitions and artistic events at their respective venues. A forum for synergies and exchanges, these cultural meetings are an opportunity to showcase the artistic and creative talents of Monaco.

Specialists in ancient, modern and contemporary art, the professionals taking part in Monaco Art Week will be working hand in hand, to enable members of the public to visit alone or in groups and discover the different periods of art history. The originality of Monaco Art Week lies in the dialogue and resonance between different artistic genres over almost five centuries, as demonstrated once again by this year’s exhibitions, the organisers say.
