So-called ‘window masks’ have been issued to staff working in many of Monaco’s administrative offices. Public-facing employees will be able to welcome visitors with a warm smile, thanks to their transparency.

The Department of Health and Social Affairs said on Monday that the masks will also be much better suited to those who need to read lip movements.

The masks consist of a light, thin and breathable fabric. The transparent band is away from the mouth for better comfort during speech and better anti-fogging capabilities.

The masks, made in France, can be washed up to 20 times. A total of 22 offices now have the masks.

The move is especially significant due to the fact that the wearing of face masks may be a health requirement for many months to come.
