Having gone virtual for its 11th edition at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in March, 2020, the Monaco Blue Initiative is back in a mixed format this year.
This unique platform for debate will be held in person on March 22 under the presidency of HSH Prince Albert, and digitally, in order to reach a variety of major players in ocean conservation and governance.
In its 12th edition, the MBI will address themes such as “the role of international negotiations for better ocean governance,” and “what role does the financial sector need to play in managing risks related to biodiversity loss and financing the sustainable blue economy?”
Being no stranger to the fight for ocean conservation, Prince Albert launched the MBI in 2010, and the high profile debate is currently co-organised by the Oceanographic Institute and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
