The Monaco Yacht Show has reacted to complaints that the quays are too crowded by announcing that ticket prices will rise to a minimum of 500 euros for one day.
The 2021 show in September will place the ‘final superyacht client’ at the centre of its focus.
Last year, before the show’s owners, the Informa Group, pulled the plug on the 2020 event due to coronavirus concerns, there had been complaints from exhibitors that participating was too expensive.
This week, show director Gaëlle Tallarida told a virtual press conference that the show has been redesigned in consultation with the global yachting industry.
“The price will be higher than before to ensure we have the right people at the show,” Tallarida said. “The feedback is that there have been too many people at the yacht show.”
The first day of the show – Wednesday – will be limited to VIP visitors, including owners, and professional advisors and specialists.
