Monaco has no intention of restricting opening hours for bars and restaurants, the Minister of State made clear on Friday.
“For the moment, it doesn’t seem necessary to us for either close bars or restaurants, or limit their hours of opening,” Pierre Dartout said.
The Government believes that the health situation in Monaco is not comparable to that in Nice or Marseille, where opening hour restrictions imposed by Paris have been met with anger. However, restaurant managers need to make sure that social distancing is being followed. There will be more checks to make sure health rules are being adhered to.
Prince Albert himself has said that it is necessary to adapt our way of life but not to stop living.
From Monday, coronavirus testing capacity at the Léo Ferré centre in Fontvieille will be doubled.
