From the beginning of the month, the Department of Social Affairs and Health has been supporting the “Pink October” campaign of prevention of breast cancer. As part of this awareness campaign, the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) has installed several stands dedicated to the campaign.
A number of initiatives aimed at encouraging breast cancer screening, in partnership with the “Pink Ribbon Monaco” Association, have also taken place in recent days. Several doctors and nurses from CHPG were present on Saturday morning in Place d’Armes to discuss topics related to breast cancer, while on Sunday a blood drive was held on the sidelines of the Monaco – Rennes football match.
Breast cancer screening is based on clinical examination and imaging tests. The earlier breast cancer is detected, the greater the chance of recovery. The sooner breast cancer is detected, the less aggressive the treatment will be. In France, 60,000 new cases are detected each year.
