Société des bains de mer announced on Friday that the Café de Paris will undergo a major internal refit that will take between 10 and 12 months. The Café itself will close for the work, but the casino will stay open.

The iconic venue is expected to reopen in June 2023, SBM said. Approval for the plans is expected in the first half of 2022.

The work will include the opening up of the rear of the building, with public views of the garden bordered by the ave. des Spelugues. There will be two kitchens, rather than one at present. The first floor terrace adjacent to the Salon Bellevue will be enlarged.
