In a noteworthy transition within Monaco’s governmental framework, Lionel Beffre officially stepped into the role of Minister of the Interior on Monday, August 5. This appointment follows the retirement of Patrice Cellario, a distinguished public servant who dedicated 42 years to the Principality’s administration.
Lionel Beffre brings a wealth of experience to his new position. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief of Staff for France’s Minister of Overseas Territories. His illustrious career in public service is marked by his tenure as Prefect in several French departments, including Lot-et-Garonne, Eure-et-Loir, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Isère, and Seine-et-Marne.
