Thousands of employees working in Monaco’s hotels, cafés and restaurants will be covered by revised minimum pay rates from Sunday, November 1, following the publication of a new wage scale…

The changes, introduced under Circular No. 2026-13 and announced in the Journal de Monaco on Friday, October 30, establish updated minimum hourly rates across the hospitality industry’s employment classifications. For general employees, the new rates range from €12.44 to €14.43 per hour, depending on grade and experience level. Supervisory positions carry minimum rates between €14.85 and €15.88, while management grades range from €19 to €28.99 per hour.

At the lowest grade, the new hourly rate represents an increase of 31 cents, or approximately 2.6 percent, compared with the previous scale. For an employee working a standard 39-hour week, this equates to approximately €2,102 gross per month.

The adjustment comes amid continuing pressure from Monaco’s trade unions, which have called for a minimum monthly wage of €2,680, alongside improvements to working conditions and pension arrangements.

While the revised scale raises minimum pay thresholds, employees already earning above the new rates will not necessarily receive an increase. The changes nevertheless establish a higher wage floor across one of the Principality’s most important employment sectors.
