Discussions extended beyond the traditional responsibilities of preserving and exhibiting collections, examining how museums can respond to contemporary social challenges and strengthen their connections with local communities.
Participants emphasised the importance of museums as trusted institutions capable of encouraging public debate, sharing expertise and helping citizens better understand the world around them.
The initiative formed part of Monaco’s wider cultural programme during its six-month presidency, which concludes on November 10, reinforcing the value of international cooperation and the increasingly important civic role played by museums.
