Mushrooms are having something of a moment, and not just in the kitchen…

From fashionable homeware to drinks promising a healthier start to the day, fungi are inspiring a growing variety of products. Monaco-based laboratory Terrascience is joining the movement with two mushroom-based drinks, launched in September 2026 as alternatives to traditional coffee and hot chocolate.

The new formulas combine three varieties of mushrooms with either decaffeinated Arabica coffee or cocoa. Inspired by mycotherapy, the traditional use of medicinal mushrooms, the drinks are marketed as supporting wellbeing and helping consumers manage fatigue and stress. Both contain no added sugar and are free from gluten and lactose, although scientific evidence for many medicinal mushroom health claims remains limited.

Meanwhile, mushrooms are also making their presence felt in interior design. British homeware brand Yvonne Ellen, whose distinctive creations have been spotted amongst the whimsical window displays of Monaco’s luxury florist Maison Narmino, has embraced the trend with a playful ceramic mug featuring a mushroom-shaped handle and the word Magic. The collection also includes mushroom-shaped salt and pepper shakers, bringing a little fun(gi) to the dining table!

For Terrascience, established in 1998 and distributing products in more than 20 countries, the drinks represent another addition to its extensive nutritional supplement range. Whether enjoyed for their potential benefits or simply their novelty, mushrooms are finding new admirers far beyond the forest.
