Monaco’s Rokethon association holds its third annual solidarity walk on Sunday, September 27, in and around the Chapiteau at Espace Fontvieille, inviting residents to walk or run alongside their pets in a stand against animal abandonment.
The event carries a dual purpose: raising awareness of the alarming rise in pet abandonment across France and around the world, while encouraging adoption over buying a pet outright.
Founded in 2024, Rokethon has grown into one of Monaco’s most beloved animal welfare traditions, drawing more than 400 participants each year who walk laps with their dogs around the Chapiteau. Every one-kilometre lap completed generates a €2 donation toward local shelters, including SPA Monaco, with Princess Charlène traditionally giving the starting signal alongside her own chihuahua, Harley.
Past editions have channelled funds toward a range of partner organisations beyond SPA Monaco, including the Brigitte Bardot Foundation, Un Brin de Chance in Nice, and Nos Amis pour la Vie in Marrakech, reflecting the association’s growing international reach since its first edition in 2024.
Entry remains free, with participants asked only for a small donation per lap completed, as Monaco’s animal-loving community gathers once again to walk, run and raise their voices for pets still waiting to find a home.
