Monaco China International (MCI) organised its first MCI Tea Talk on Monday, bringing guests together to discover elements of traditional Chinese culture, including the pipa, a traditional stringed instrument, and the art of the Chinese tea ceremony.
The event was conceived as more than a cultural showcase, with MCI aiming to create a relaxed setting in which people from different backgrounds and industries can meet, exchange ideas and develop future collaborations.
According to the association’s vice-president, the Tea Talk format is intended to become a regular fixture rather than a one-off event. Future editions are expected to explore a broad range of interests shared between Monaco and the Chinese-speaking world, including art, gastronomy, audiovisual creation, music and fashion.
MCI plans to keep the gatherings deliberately small, placing an emphasis on the quality of exchanges and bringing together guests from different professional backgrounds.
The association ultimately hopes the conversations begun over tea will lead to tangible projects, creating new opportunities for collaboration whilst building a lasting cultural bridge between the Principality and Chinese-speaking communities.
