Former French Secretary of State for Ecological and Inclusive Transition Brune Poirson has joined the board of directors of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, strengthening the organisation’s environmental leadership…
As reported by Monaco Matin, the appointment brings extensive experience in environmental policy, international climate negotiations and sustainable development to the Foundation as it continues its global conservation work.
Poirson served in the French government between 2017 and 2020 under Prime Minister Édouard Philippe and also represented Vaucluse in the French National Assembly. During her time in office, she helped drive France’s anti-waste legislation promoting the circular economy and represented the country in international climate and biodiversity negotiations. She later became Chief Sustainability Officer and a member of the executive committee at hospitality group Accor, overseeing the company’s environmental and social strategy across nearly 110 countries.
The Foundation said Poirson’s expertise in environmental policy and her ability to engage private-sector partners made her a valuable addition to its board.
Responding to the appointment, Poirson said she was honoured to join the Foundation and pledged to support the vision established by Prince Albert II. She said she would dedicate her experience to advancing the Foundation’s priorities, including ocean conservation, biodiversity protection and scientific research.
